Choosing a laptop for school, college or university does not mean spending a fortune. Students mostly need a reliable keyboard, enough RAM for several browser tabs and documents, an SSD so the laptop starts quickly, and a battery that lasts through classes. This guide lists laptops that Media International has in stock in Islamabad and Rawalpindi at the time of writing.
What a student laptop needs
- Processor: a Core i5 (or the newer Intel Core Ultra 5) handles online classes, assignments, presentations and general browsing.
- RAM: 8GB is a good starting point. 16GB is more comfortable if you keep many tabs, Zoom and Office open together.
- Storage: choose an SSD (256GB or 512GB) rather than an old hard drive. Check the product page for the exact size on each laptop.
- Screen and weight: 13 to 14 inch laptops are easier to carry to campus. A 15.6 inch screen is easier on the eyes for long study sessions.
- Keyboard: a backlit keyboard helps if you study late. Engineering and design students should look at 16GB RAM or more.
